Why the cricket song?

Things have been very quiet around here for two reasons:

First, I'm pregnant again, and due in December.

Second, my grandfather has had months of horrible health problems. He lives over a thousand miles away. I am his medical power of attorney, and my whackaloon mother is his financial power of attorney. It's been a time-consuming roadwreck.
